Model Selection
To select the correct model, the following information is required :
- Force
- Operating Pressure
- Total Stroke
- Power Stroke
Other factors to be considered are :
- Cycle Time
- Approach Force
- Retract Force
To calculate the required Input/Output Ratio, divide the required force, in pounds,
by the operating pressure.
Example : Required force = 11 tons (22,000 pounds)
Operating Pressure = 90 PSI
Choose the model with the next highest Input/Output Ratio
22000 pounds divided by 90 PSI
244.4 Output Ratio Needed
So in this case an NMK 14 Ton model would work best with the air pressure turned down to a level that still provideds enough force, this will help save air.
